Turismo Amelia

14–15 November 2026 · The final weekend of Frantoi Aperti comes to Amelia, among centuries-old olive trees, olive mills and new oil

With Amerino Tipico – Le vie dell’olio (The Ways of Oil), Amelia hosts the final weekend of Frantoi Aperti in Umbria 2026. Two days to discover the new olive oil where it is made: in the olive mills, in the centuries-old olive groves of the Amerini hills and in the historic halls of the town centre, where oil is told and tasted.

From 17 October to 15 November, the 29th edition of Frantoi Aperti has brought tastings, concerts, visits, treks and meetings dedicated to extra virgin olive oil to every corner of Umbria. In Amelia, the programme is built around walking, cycling and meeting the people who produce the oil: walks among the olive trees, visits to the mills with a free shuttle bus, guided tastings and activities for children, to experience the new oil as part of the history and landscape of this land.

Saturday 14 November: market, museum, fairy tales and e-bikes among the olive trees

The morning opens at the Chiostro Boccarini cloister with the Zero-Kilometre Market of local Amerino produce and free olive oil analysis by the students of the Istituto Superiore di Amelia. The same morning, the Museo Civico Archeologico e Pinacoteca offers “A spasso con Minerva per il museo di Amelia” (A walk with Minerva through the Amelia museum), organised by l’Orologio, manager of the Circuito Museale Città di Amelia.

In the afternoon, there are two different ways to reach the olive groves. Families with children can join Trekking e fiabe tra gli ulivi (Trekking and fairy tales among the olive trees): the walker and storyteller Loretta Bonamente leads the youngest from the historic centre to the Frantoio Suatoni olive mill, telling stories of trees, olives and oil, all the way to an afternoon snack with freshly pressed oil. Those who prefer two wheels can choose In bici tra ulivi e frantoi (By bike among olive groves and mills), a guided e-bike loop to the Frantoio Italy Heart olive mill, with tasting and live music at the mill.
